I LOVE LEARNING! Especially about health, health foods + cooking. Stevia is something I have learned quite a bit about. That it's healthier herbal like sweetener that isn't actually like all the other chemicals out there you are putting in your body. However- just like any health alternatives there are some tricks out there. TRUVIA for example is something Thomas used to sweeten his coffee (which he has now given up and is a tea-drinker! Crazy..maybe I will join one day). I also dabbled in baking with Truvia since I thought it a 'better' alternative. That's the thing though! If you do some reading up on it... its not! It is still very processed.. read here. So do yourself a favor and buy a bottle like this one "Whole Leaf Stevia" that will last you for all of eternity because it only take 1-3 drops to sweeten a drink, smoothie, yogurt, oatmeal.. the possibilities are endless! This helps A LOT if you are trying to cut down on your Fructose (most addictive sugar) consumption (1-2 pieces of fruit a day limit).
I used it to sweeten this smoothie- which happened to have: 1 broccoli stalk (I hate wasting stuff you can eat!), spinach, 1/3 cup of frozen blueberries, 1/2 an avocado + 1/2 cup almond milk, 1/3 cup of water, 1 TBS ground flax seed... the stevia just helped take that extra 'vegetable-y' taste down a bit... haha. #eatyogreens
The jar I bought from June Jars however- TARGET now has THESE! (See below) but they are not on their website for some reason- its a 4 pack of lids + straws for 5$ (or somewhere near there).. if you already have jars these are cheap & great! So... Do you use Stevia??
